Delaire Rowe is
a collector of images and experience. Her work represents the processing
of visual information gathered from her various experiences including
working with children, working at a museum, studying botanical motifs and
Shaker folk art, etc. Delaire's paintings and drawings are colorful and
imaginative. They have been exhibited in the US, England, Japan and Spain,
and are in many private and corporate collections.
Delaire earned a BFA from Indiana
University, an MFA from Brooklyn College in New York and studied at Yale
University's Summer School of Art and Music in Norfolk, Connecticut. She
has taught at the Western Kentucky University's Department of Art and
Center for Gifted Studies. As an Artist-in-Residence she has worked in
schools, museums, and community centers. She was also a featured artist on
Kentucky Educational Television's program "Mixed Media" January
2003.
